Brunch and Beaches

Good day lovely friends, hope you're all enjoying your weekends. It's beautiful sunny here in Sydney, such a splendid thing considering how chilly and grey it's been of late.

I thought I'd share a few shots from a couple of weekends back. Ellen and I had brunch at a sweet little restaurant at Bondi Beach called Blue Orange. It has such wholesome, fresh, tasty food. Below is my delicious meal of sourdough toast with caramelised onions, roasted pumpkin and chunks of goats cheese, and the most amazing balsamic roast tomatoes. Absolute heaven!

One of my favourite dresses, I refer to it as
my forest dress. It's from ModCloth, a website
I find very hard to resist. In fact, I recently bought
incredible dress from there, photos will be up once it
arrives in the mail.

Insane windy weather, utterly freezing too, but at least
the sun was shining for us.

The glorious Bondi Beach in it's pastel resplendence.

I can't get over the colours of the ocean, they're just so
inviting and soft. Bondi can go from a deep, almost
black, blue, to a vibrant turquoise. Truly beautiful.

Bronte beach appearing on the horizon.

I'll be back in a week or two with another post. Ta ta for now.

A little photo splurge

Hello my few lovely followers, god it's bee ages since I was on here. I had almost forgotten this blog existed. I figure it's time to share some of my life's most beautiful and inspiring moments with you. Generally for me that means sunsets and trees. I have a fascination with both, and when I get the chance to photograph them I feel happier and more hopeful. I hope you like what I've photographed.

The following are my favourite recent sunset shots:

And the next bunch are nature shots:

This is a photo I am actually quite proud of.

Beautiful Bondi Beach, it's no wonder this
beach is such a tourist attraction. I did the
Bondi to Bronte walk, it was a stunningly
clear day but freezing cold!

I posted this photo on my instagram account, and it is
my most popular photo with 110 likes so far :)

Now that I have flooded you with photos I will try my best to update more regularly. I say that often, but I really do mean it. I take sunset/nature photos a few times a week, and I have been crafting quite a bit lately, so there are a fair few posts I can make. Expect a post once a week my loves.

Corlette Adventures

I had the most amazing time this weekend. Port Stephen's is as relaxing and beautiful as i remember it. And i got to hang out with friends i haven't seen in such a long time. The only downside is that my car is still sitting an hour out of Sydney in mechanic shop, waiting to be fixed. But never mind that, here are some snaps of the weekend and my goofy friends.

I really love this photo, we all look so cute and happy.

This picture is hilarious. Alice innocently walking through the
vineyard while Steve happily strangles Sam.

My gorgeous Ali, don't we make a lovely couple :P

Cutest couple.

The family, sadly missing Steve.

Kambala outing

Hi lovely friends! This post is about a week late, but at least it's here. I've been so busy getting back to uni, but i a definitely going to try and make more time to blog.

A week or so ago i attended the Kambala 125th Anniversary Soiree. It was held in the newly renovated year 12 common room. I had a really wonderful time seeing some old faces, chatting with my principal and exploring the school. A lot has changed in 5 years. We have an incredible new music centre which i unfortunately have no photos of. What i do have photos of is some of my goofy friends and my awesome ModCloth dress hehe.

Goofing around on the year 12 balcony. Poor little rich kids, must be hard having a view of Sydney harbour and the bridge.

The hall. The place of assembly's, theatre performances, theatre sports, music performances and year 12 farewells.

So proud of my fish and anemone, i can still remember making it.

I told these photos from the lovely girl above, Mel, because she was intelligent and brought a camera with.

My outfit consisted of a gorgeous green forest dress from ModCloth, sexy brown heels from Senso, brown belt from Cue and a little yellow cardigan to top it off.

I'll be back soon, enjoy the rest of your weekends friends.

A perfect weekend

Another beautiful Sydney weekend. Golden sunshine, a mild breeze and some friends with whom to enjoy it. First an evening walk along Bondi with Ellen. Then Saturday at the shops buying pretties. Saturday night with uni friends, eating ham and drinking sparkling wine. And Sunday spend swimming laps, lazing in a spa and cooking in the steam room, followed by sushi. Oh and i dare not forget the amazing beef and Guinness pie my brother and i made for dinner tonight. Good weekend no?

Stay tuned for a delicious recipe for beef and Guinness pie with a side of minted mushy peas and mashed sweet potato.

What to wear to a wedding?

It's been a long time since i've been to a wedding, a good 14+ years. So when i received a wedding invitation in the mail i was rather excited.

It was a beautiful ceremony. There was so much happiness and excitement, it was really lovely. The reception was beautiful too, right on Bondi Beach, a delicious seafood dinner, the sun setting in the background.

Here are some photos of my outfit (which, truth be told, i have been dying to wear since i bought the dress and shoes at a DJ's sale).

Dress: Alannah Hill
Shoes: Mary Kyri
Bag: Vintage from the 80's
Jewelry (left to right): Lauren Rose Design and Tresors

The lovely Ellen did my hair beautifully. She braided each side, and curled the lose hair. I felt so pretty hehe.

Thriller night....

So i've been a little slack as usual. I am a tragic little petunia, and an even more tragic little blogger. But i am here now with some photos of my Halloween outfit. This year i had every intention as going as a very scantily clad devil, but thought better of it and opted for Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

Isn't Dorothy just the most adorably dressed character? She's so stylishly vintage. I tried my best to dress as closely to her as possible, and thanks to Ellen i did rather well.

Here i am all cute in Ellen's Dorothy style dress. I even have Toto as my loyal companion through Munchkin Land. And look at the pretty shoes, aren't they amazing? They are Ellen's sadly, and i love them. They worked perfectly as Ruby slippers.

I spent Halloween with some of Ellen's lovely school friends. It wasn't a rowdy night, just relaxed and calm, lots of chit chat and girly giggling. Very fun. I hope you all had as enjoyable Halloween as i did. I promise i will update again soonish with pictures from the Love Vintage Fair. But you may have to give me a couple of weeks as tomorrow i leave for Johannesburg. I am so excited. I promise to put up some photo from the trip as well. :)

A splash of colour

This weekend was absolutely delightful. Such amazing sunny, warm weather, 26 degree heat, clear skies, and a beautiful city to enjoy. I had lunch with my friend Sophie at Icebergs, the North Bondi swimming club. The view was stunning, wish i had taken my camera with, and the food was tasty. This is my super cute new dress which i've been unable to wear due to it's length. I finally hemmed it, and figured what a perfect dress to celebrate the new warm weather.

Necklace: Vinnies
Shoes: Some strange shop in Hong Kong
Cat: my sweet 3 legged kitty Catastrophe

3 days of birthday!

Here's that birthday post i promised. I was spoiled absolutely rotten all weekend, it was a really lovely birthday.

On Thursday i had a nice family dinner at Kam Fook. It's a birthday tradition in our family to pick a restaurant or a meal, and i was dying for Peking duck. It was a lovely dinner, plenty of silliness and giggling, especially over the fortunes in our fortune cookies. Ellen has a trick, you just add 'in bed' to the end of your fortune, and suddenly they become hilariously pornographic and strange.

That's my gran, mom and dad, i guess that might be obvious. Can you see the family resemblance?

On the Friday night Ellen spoiled me entirely rotten. She took me to Opera Bar for dinner, we had a lovely share platter. They really know how to cook, the food was delicious, and surprisingly filling for a share platter. Then she took me to the opera to see La Boheme. Oh my goodness, what an amazing opera, especially for my first live opera experience. After the opera Ellie took me to possibly my favorite restaurant, Pony, for desert. I had an apple tart with vanilla ice-cream and caramel sauce. It was amazing. Ellen had a tasty chocolatey fondant type desert, also amazing.

Last of the birthday spoils was a lovely lunch with my friends. Have to say Bondi Social may be painful to book with, but their food is really wonderful. They have a share plate menu, and really you just pick a bunch and tuck in, and everyone gets a taste of everything.

The lovely Mel and Bianca.

Me and my bestie Ali.

The pretty Alex, Ellen and Elyse.

So there you have it, 3 days of celebration, 3 days of food, fun and friends and well presents, but they don't start with f.
